Orlandoo Hunter OH32X02 Kit. Orlandoo have really knocked it out of the park with this 2wd trophy truck. A perfect blend of scale detail and astonishing performance, this truck brings together elements from previous releases into one truly accomplished package. Talking of details, check out that radiator, complete with red fans and etched metal shroud. Twin fire extinguishers, a sand ladder, fuel can and a pair of spare wheels with tie-down bungees complete the rear end. Lift off the nicely finished lexan bodyshell and marvel at the simply gorgeous cage, complete with etched metal panels. Allow your eye to wander to the interior. The OH32X02 is first Orlandoo to include this level of detail; notice the shift stick, dashboard detail stickers and, of course, let’s not forget the racing-spec cupholders…

Moving swiftly on, let’s look at the chassis credentials. The first thing of note is the huge suspension travel, particularly at the rear. A solid rear axle is kept firmly in check with a 4-link setup, and those all-new lower links are one of the features that really set this truck apart. Twin shocks on each corner soak up the terrain and an anti-roll bar keeps things in check through the twisties. Up front we have long-travel double wishbones, with a reassuringly sturdy pivot pin mounting system. Double shocks and another anti-roll bar feature here too, ensuring on-point handling for this little beast. The cage chassis itself is surprisingly stiff, allowing that suspension to do its work, whilst retaining just enough give to ensure durability. Once you install the etched metal panels and flat-bottomed floor plate it really is surprising how stiff the cage becomes though.

As with other Orlandoos, you get a nicely presented kit that builds up to a rolling truck. All electronics can be purchased separately. These things are small, and parts of the build can be fiddly but don’t be put off. You get a clear, well documented assembly manual and all the components fit together nicely for a satisfying build experience. The OH32X02 comes with ball-races throughout, brass gears in the rear axle and an impeccable pedigree. Choose between the pre-painted red or blue lexan bodies, or opt for the transparent one to paint yourself. All three options come with an overspray film and a sticker sheet to finish your truck.

This truck is all about racing, unlike its Orlandoo brethren. As such, some speed is required and we recommend you install a 3000rpm N30 motor to provide adequate torque for off-road driving, together with enough wheel-speed for some serious fun. Just like its 1:1 counterpart, your OH32X02 will perform best on hard-packed dirt, with just a little loose stuff and a few bumps and jumps to keep things interesting. Indoor racing is also an option; just watch for traction rolls on carpet and typical 2wd tail-happiness on smooth floors. Bashing around is fun, but convince your driving buddy to get one too and go racing for maximum lols!

Tuning options start with adding some weight to the rear; wheel weight rings can be added to the spare tires or fill the fuel can with tungsten putty. A bit of weight out back will help keep your truck flat though the jumps and provide some controllable drifting through the turns. Alloy shocks are the next thing on the list; the new ME3 X internal sprung shocks provide some real damping to keep things in check and the ME5 threaded alloy coil-overs offer further tuning options. After that the world is your lobster – once you’ve mastered the thrills of RWD racing, how about a Furitek brushless system?
